Servicing Sustainable Development and Cultural Diversity

Since 2006 LMF has been actively involved in initiatives touching upon water. It regards WATER AND FILM events, which have as an objective to confront the view of filmmakers to those of sector experts.

Such an event took place during the International Exhibition Zaragoza 2008 on the initiative of the International Secretariat for Water (SIE), for which LMF chose some 50 hours of programmes that were projected at the heart of Water Tribune between June and September 2008 after expert debates.

As well, the LMF participated in the creation of the International festival EAU ET CINEMA of Verviers (Belgium), which thanks to the work done, notably on the choice of projected works, received  the support of the International Hydrological Programme of Unesco (PHI) during the two previous editions and was recognised as a contribution from Belgium to the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development

LMF currently has an expertise recognised at the international level in the choice of films associated to themes addressed by water experts such as those of basic water delivery services, water sanitation and resources management.
